The Kia Soul is a unique subcompact vehicle that takes its exterior cues from a hatchback, wagon, and SUV. The 2020 model arrived with significant updates that include a longer body to add more space in the cabin and expand the cargo area, and redesigned front and rear fascias. Kia also made the front door openings larger. These changes are just some of the reasons you should test drive the 2020 Kia Soul.

  1. The Trim Options

There are lots of options with the Soul. The entry-level model is the LX, which has automatic headlights, 16-inch steel wheels, and rear privacy glass. The S adds alloy wheels, while the GT-Line comes with exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels, red exterior accents, and a unique bumper in the front. The X-Line has plastic fender cladding, roof rails, and unique wheels to give it a more rugged look, and if you bump up to the EX, you’ll get upgraded alloy wheels and more safety features. The top-level GT-Line Turbo comes standard with LED headlights and a power sunroof.

  1. The Fuel Efficient Engines

There are two engines available for the Soul. The base is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that generates 147 horsepower and works with a six-speed manual transmission. If you opt for the CVT, the Soul will get up to 29 miles per gallon in the city and an impressive 35 mpg on the highway. The other engine is a 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder that develops 201 horsepower, and you can get it with the GT-Line Turbo model. It works with a new 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and can get up to 32 mpg on the highway.

  1. The Technology

The entry-level Soul models have a 7-inch touch screen with the UVO infotainment system. It works with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Bumping up a few trims to the EX gets you a 10.25-inch touch screen with the UVO system, and this one comes with navigation and wireless charging.

  1. The Safety Features

All the Soul models have a rearview camera, and if you choose the S model, you’ll also get a blind-spot monitor, lane-keep assist, and a rear cross-traffic alert system. The EX adds even more advanced safety features, including a forward-collision alert system with automatic braking, pedestrian detection, lane-change assist, and a driver attention warning system, and the GT-Line Turbo trim adds a head-up display and it comes with adaptive cruise control.

  1. The Cabin

The 2020 Soul’s cabin is spacious, comfortable, and has some unique features available. Cloth upholstery comes standard with heated front seats added in the EX along with a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat that includes two-way lumbar support and dual-zone automatic climate control. The EX also adds leatherette seat trim. If you step up to the GT-Line Turbo model, it comes with mood lighting that will pulse with the music.

The 2020 Kia Soul has some significant updates, but it still keeps its unique look. There is now even more space in the cabin, and it’s even easier to get in and out of.
