Trips to Take During Spring Break

Spring break is coming up and offers students and workers a chance to enjoy some quick road trips and getaways. Sherwood, Arkansas, is surrounded by many forests, parks, and fun places to visit. Here are a few trips to worth taking within about two hours of Sherwood this Spring Break. 

Ozark National Forest

The Ozark National Forest is only an hour and a half drive from Sherwood. This forest covers over one million acres of land full of hiking trails, camping areas, fishing ponds, and creeks. Bring an RV or camping gear to stay for a few days. Head to one of the several recreation and camping areas in the forest for camper-friendly facilities. The Ozark mountains are home to many different species of birds and forest critters. This is a great place to relax and enjoy nature during your break from everyday life.

Memphis, Tennessee

Memphis, Tennessee, is just two hours east of Sherwood. This city is loaded with fun and exciting tourist attractions. If you’re only spending a day there, you’ll want to plan ahead and decide which sites to visit. Music lovers will appreciate tours of the Rock n’ Soul Museum, the Blues Hall of Fame, and the Stax Museum of American Soul Music. Don’t miss out on a tour of Elvis’ home in Graceland.

No matter your specific interests, there’s something you’ll love in Memphis. Foodies can tour the many famous restaurants with the Taste of Downtown Memphis Food Tour. Be sure to visit the Sun Studio on Union Ave where Elvis recorded his first song. Other places to check out include the Memphis Zoo, the National Civil Rights Museum, and the Memphis Botanical Garden.

Empress of Little Rock Bed and Breakfast
