There are four trim options for the new K5, and you'll want to consider which is the best fit for your needs. The standard LXS trim is already impressive, with features like LED headlights and 16-inch alloy wheels. Opt for the GT-Line, and you get 18-inch black alloy wheels, LED taillights, and fog lights.

Upgrade to the EX, and the 18-inch alloy wheels are complemented by a luxurious panoramic sunroof. The top trim is known as the GT, and it offers quite a few luxury features in addition to performance enhancements. 19-inch alloy wheels come standard with the GT, and you get a quad-tip dual exhaust system.

Under the hood of the K5, you'll find one of two engine options, and both are considerably powerful. The standard engine is a 1.6-liter inline-four that's outfitted with a turbocharger boasting 180 horsepower with 195 pound-feet of torque. You can upgrade to a 2.5-liter inline-four with a turbocharger that pushes it even further to 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque.

Maintaining control when behind the wheel of the K5 is easy thanks to its advanced performance features. All-season tires help you grip the road all year long, but if you opt for the sport-tuned suspension, you get enhanced performance even if you're going through wet road conditions. All-wheel drive is also available to help you corner and maneuver with greater control.

Inside the K5, you can enjoy a host of luxurious features and advanced technology including a 10.25-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. Connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available so it's easy to stay connected. The five available USB ports and wireless phone charger let you keep your devices powered as well. In terms of cargo space, the trunk of the K5 is quite generous with a maximum capacity of 16 cubic feet.

The cornerstone of the K5's safety features is the impressive Kia Drive Wise system. This suite of driver assistance features offers constant vigilance when you're behind the wheel, keeping you and your passengers safe. Forward collision avoidance assist, for example, can automatically apply the brakes should an imminent collision be detected. You may also opt for smart cruise control, which will maintain your set speed until you hit traffic. At that point, cruise control will be altered automatically while maintaining a safe distance from any vehicles in front of you. Additionally, you can outfit the K5 with a blind-spot monitor that also features rear cross-traffic alerts to let you know of oncoming cars as you're backing out of a parking spot.
