Volunteers lead tours of the park, explaining its historical significance to visitors in attendance. If you’re unable to make one of the tours, interpretive graphics have been installed throughout the park to give a brief explanation of the park’s unique historical significance.

The purpose of the park, while maintaining the historical integrity of the original site, is in essence to provide visitors with the opportunity to experience history. 5. The Park Was in a Movie

Old Mill was actually filmed for the opening scene of the award-winning movie Gone With the Wind. It is thought to be the only remaining structure still standing from the movie.
